Podcast Marketing and Engagement Coordinator

Job description

Foreign Policy (FP) is recruiting a Podcast Marketing and Engagement Coordinator to oversee engagement and growth for our FP Studios podcast productions, research products, and events. The person in this role will also help manage social channels and produce custom content for our business team, and be the point person for podcast promotion, podcast subscription drives, and launch campaigns for FP and FP Studio podcasts. The successful candidate will have a great—and demonstrated—interest in geopolitics and international affairs, as well as the wide-ranging work of FP. The right candidate will have the ability and drive to parse audience data and trends, as well as a vision for how FP should grow audiences via multiple platforms. We’re a collaborative team so candidates need to work well with others and be ready to participate fully in our business team operations. 


This position is primarily remote until September 20 and then will join us two days a week in our D.C. office. and reports to the Managing Director of FP Studios. The person in this role will initially be employed on a temporary basis.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead audience growth for FP Studios, Events, and Analytics

  • Set up and maintain show pages for our podcasts

  • Work with other podcasts to swap promos and feed drops

  • Secure ads on other podcasts and promote placement on platforms like Castbox

  • Work with a consultant to develop marketing and promotion plans and creation of a public radio show from existing podcasts

  • Assist in the creation of audiograms with our creative and social team

  • Coordinate social media posts with editorial social media lead

  • Submit FP podcasts & research for awards

  • Identify pod and marketing conferences and submit FP professionals as speakers

  • Assist in FP Studio’s client marketing efforts

  • Manage social media postings for the business team including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram, and more

  • Live tweet and post other social updates from our events

  • Help build new audiences for FP research products

  • Work closely with our editorial team to promote FP content, and to create bespoke data, infographics, and imagery for social media

Requirements

  • Experience with and understanding of audio product marketing, social media strategy, and operations
  • Background and/or demonstrated interest in geopolitics and Foreign Policy

  • Ability to work across a variety of platforms and collaborate well with other team members
