Creative Intern

Job description

Foreign Policy is a magazine of global news and ideas. We explain Washington to the world, and the world to Americans—and we do that by covering big trends in everything from security and defense to issues surrounding climate change, immigration, politics, and culture. FP is more than just a magazine: It has a flourishing podcast division, regular high-profile virtual events, and an analytics division that has been at the forefront of research on everything from gender parity to 5G and security.

We are recruiting a spring intern. The intern will assist the creative team with marketing and social media materials, graphics creation, photo research, and iterative design — diving right into the day-to-day creative work of FP across business and editorial divisions.

We are a collaborative team; candidates should work well with others and be committed to FP’s mission—explaining Washington to the world, and the world to Americans.

This is a part-time paid internship open to remote candidates based in the United States.

Our interns have gone on to full-time roles at prestigious media organizations around the world. This is a terrific opportunity to learn more about journalism, geopolitics, and cutting-edge new media. We are committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive newsroom.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of multiplatform design, including marketing and social media
  • Strong visual communication skills
  • Ability to grasp and relay complex journalistic information, with emphasis on international relations and politics
  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's or master's program

We will read applications on a rolling basis.

Foreign Policy is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.
