Business to Business Subscriptions Account Manager

Foreign Policy’s B2B Subscriptions business is fast-growing with dozens of new clients added every month. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with fantastic customer service skills and a mind for negotiating to not only manage our current book of business, but continue to grow it. Our clients are looking for proactive updates on their usage and new features from FP, and we want to ensure that our readership continues to grow.

Ideally this position will be based in D.C. or N.Y. but we will consider remote candidates.

Responsibilities include

  • Renew B2B Group Subscription accounts, including negotiating yearly increases

  • Build relationships with decision makers and identify new stakeholders within the account to encourage greater engagement and ensure stickiness

  • Work closely with marketing to strategize topical campaigns, boost readership, build prospect lists, and follow up on warm, engaged leads. Be able to interpret the data and quickly pivot if necessary

  • Manage the logistics of accounts to ensure all seats are filled, invoices are fulfilled, and payment is completed

  • Track and manage usage statistics -- proactively updating stakeholders every quarter

  • Identify underperforming accounts and work with marketing to increase readership

  • Utilize the many channels FP has for nurturing readers: conference calls, marketing campaigns, newsletters, PostUp, etc

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Communications or related field

  • 2-3 years experience in business-to-consumer or business-to-business environments, particularly sales or customer support

  • Understands key marketing and sales principles, specifically how and when different tactics should be used

  • Self-motivated and eager to interact with clients and prospects

  • Ability to think strategically about campaign and outreach activity and optimize results

  • Strong project and time management skills, with attention to deliverables and deadlines

  • Effective written and verbal communicator, and evidence of working collaboratively to achieve results

  • Preferred: Exposure to and knowledge of the media and publishing industry

  • Salesforce experience

Desired but not required

  • Experience with prospecting tools: LinkedIn, Leadership Connect, ZoomInfo

  • Experience with Piano

  • Proactive in testing ad delivery and ensuring monitoring campaign performance

  • Eligible to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available)
